Arabic Localization & RTL Testing

A translated product isn't the same as a product that works in Arabic. Text that fits in English gets clipped, arrows point the wrong way, order numbers and IBANs come out reversed, and switching language loses what the user typed. We review the product the way an Arabic-speaking user meets it.

Problems this finds

  • Layouts that don't mirror: icons, progress steps, tables, carousels and form alignment
  • Clipped or overflowing Arabic labels, especially in buttons, tabs and narrow mobile screens
  • Mixed-direction text: emails, URLs, phone numbers, amounts, codes and dates rendered in the wrong order
  • Language switching that loses state or lands on the wrong page
  • Untranslated strings, literal translations and inconsistent terminology

In scope

  • Key journeys reviewed in Arabic and English on agreed browsers and screen sizes
  • Layout, mirroring and bidirectional text checks with annotated screenshots
  • Translation quality in context — how the Arabic reads on the actual screen
  • Arabic input: search, forms, validation messages and stored values

Not included

  • Translating the product itself — we review and report, your translators fix
  • Certified or legal translation
  • Languages other than Arabic and English

How we work

We review Arabic and bilingual products in context: translation quality on real screens, right-to-left layout and mirrored components, mixed Arabic and English text, numbers, dates, and input fields — on the browsers and devices your users rely on.

  1. 1Agree on languages, screens, and devices
  2. 2Review key journeys in both languages
  3. 3Compare layouts and record evidence
  4. 4Report and retest fixes

What you receive

  • Annotated screenshots of layout and mirroring issues, with steps to reproduce
  • Notes on untranslated, truncated, or unnatural Arabic text in context
  • Checks of mixed-direction content: emails, URLs, numbers, code, and dates
  • A prioritised list of fixes for design and development

Try the kind of issues we look for

The Arabic & RTL Challenge in Bug Arena is a bilingual customer portal with planted defects: mirroring, clipped Arabic labels, numbers and codes shown in the wrong direction, a language-switching problem and missing translations. It's synthetic and safe to explore, and it shows the evidence a good RTL bug report needs.
